The Department of Sociology Unila presents Guest Lecturer on Archipelagic Identity at University Sains Malaysia (USM)

The lecturer from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) University of Lampung (Unila) had the opportunity to become a guest lecturer at the University of Science Malaysia (USM), Pulau Pinang, on November 28 2022. This agenda was part of an invitation to present a Guest Lecture and Discussion by USM.

In her presentation, Dr Bartoven Vivit Nurdin (Head of the Department of Sociology, University of Lampung) delivered a study titled “Identity in the Archipelago”. In her speech, it was stated that the term peoples of the Archipelago are all people who speak the Malay lingua franca from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the southern Philippines, to several islands in the Pacific, including the natives of Taiwan.

The events went very well. It was attended not only by CenPRIS USM but also involving lecturers from the Department of Sociology, University of Lampung, among them Ifaty Fadliliana Sari, S.Pd., M.A., Junaidi, S.Pd., M.Sos., Dewi Ayu Hidayati, S.Sos., M.Si., M. Guntur Purboyo, S.Sos., M.Si., and Damar Wibisono, S.Sos., M.A.,
